How much memory do separate instances cost?
Each instance is a full Chrome: its own browser process, GPU process and extensions. In our measurement two extra instances used roughly 2.8 times the memory of one Chrome with three profiles.
Do I have to log in again with Superdock?
No. Chrome is untouched; Superdock reads window titles and Chrome's profile list.
Can Superdock show separate instances too?
Yes. A Chrome launched with its own data directory appears as its own tile, and one signed into the same Google account as a main-browser profile folds into that profile's tile.
