The honest problem with most Mac utility programmes
Mac apps are cheap. A $7.99 or $14.99 one-time purchase does not leave much to share, so many developers skip affiliates entirely or offer 10% and hope. That is rational for them and useless for you: ten sales of a $10 app at 10% is ten dollars.
The programmes worth your time do one of two things. Either the price is high enough that a small percentage is meaningful, which is why you see so many affiliates for $99 subscriptions, or the percentage is high enough to matter at a low price. A programme that offers neither is asking you to work for exposure.

They track the referral for 30 days without cookies, create commissions on the 1st and 15th, pay on the 14th and 28th after a 30-day hold, with a $10 minimum, by bank transfer or PayPal. We never touch your payment, which means we cannot forget it.
What to check before joining anything
- Read the refund rule. Every honest programme voids commission on a refunded order. One that does not mention refunds has not thought about it.
- Ask what happens to your links if the product is discontinued. Nobody enjoys the question; the answer tells you a lot.
- Try the product first. A review that reads like an advert converts worse than one that names a flaw.
- Check whether there is a free version you can send people to without asking for a card.
